Site Overview

LouderVoice is a reviews aggregator. Members of the site write a review of anything on their own blog which is then aggregated into LV. Move your blog and the reviews move with you. This means you can put your two cents in and review a product, movie, game, etc. and they will post it on the site. Now other sites let you write them strictly on their site and you get no love but LouderVoice has made it better by allowing sms, social sites, microblogs, and blogs, as well as sites to do the reviews and then pulls this information to its site. Read on for a little better with my own thoughts on this site.

My Thoughts

Ok, so basically you write a review, it gets listed, you get link love, and a little knowledge on the site. Not bad for something that took basic reviews and put a twist on them. Also if you don’t own a site they have allowed anyone to write a review directly on the site, this means they have covered all the bases when it comes to getting the information to the website. So got a review you want to write, got a game you are looking at and wonder what the blogosphere is thinks about it, jump on over and see for yourself. This site reviewed by TSOTD.

UpTake (formerly Kango) is a travel company building a semantic search engine to retrieve more appropriate leisure and business trip results. HUH? In other words, it uses the user to build a better search for your next trip. Whether its for play, leisure, or business. The key to this site is that you can check out “themes” which are built by the users and then shared to others within the “community”. The site indexes 18 million opinions and reviews across 1,000 travel-related sites to derive the best travel search results based on what type of trip you want to take.

My Thoughts

Like many travel companies, UpTake has integrated with Google Maps, however what differentiates it from the rest of the crowd is its ambition to tag the travel vertical itself. The basics of this is it pulls data from many sites, builds a great search from this information and lets you the user tweak it to fit your exact trip needs. Now i have yet to use this site but just to give you a heads up at one time it was known as Kango.com and then changed its name to better fit what it is trying to do. So go check them out if your planning a trip and you might want this as your next booking agent as well.
