An IT Top Site
InformationWeek.com
Site In Review:
http://www.informationweek.com
Brief Description:
InformationWeek.com is for any IT professional looking to staying on top of what is new in the world of IT. This site is apart of the TechWeb network, which covers all areas from: Tech News, Product Reviews, Business Intelligence, Security, Storage, VoIP, and Web 2.0
About The Site
InformationWeek.com delivers breaking news, a comprehensive array of proprietary InformationWeek research, as well as analysis on IT trends, a whitepaper library, and original editorial content, all designed to complement their print publication in a 24/7 environment. This site was originated from their magazine and has only expanded into one of the best sites to obtain information about anything IT.
The Site’s Design
They have done a decent job with the structure of the site, however there are a few things I would change if I were the webmaster. I believe that they have way to many ads on the right viewing pane of their website, which for the most part stay out of the way but they are definitely noticeable. As for the layout of their content, I believe is OK. They have decided to stay with the magazine layout rather then changing it up some, so for those loyal readers the site will feel very familiar to you.
My Thoughts
As an IT professional my self, I also use this site on a daily basis to stay current on the news topics of the IT world. Even if your not CIO for a multi million dollar corporation, I believe that the everyday user could benefit from this site as well. There are a lot of articles on this site that are intended for all and any computer user, no matter your computer experience.
