Brief Description:
Ever wanted to know what great local eateries will be on your next road trip or family vacation? This site covers anything and everything about the world of food, especially about the world’s most famous and not so famous local food restaurants.
About The Site
What is RoadFood? Well RoadFood is considered to be great regional meals along highways, in small towns and in city neighborhoods. It is sleeves-up food made by cooks, bakers, pitmasters, and sandwich-makers who are America’s culinary folk artists. Roadfood is almost always informal and inexpensive; and the best Roadfood restaurants are colorful places enjoyed by locals (and savvy travelers) for their character as well as their menu. RoadFood.com not only covers local eateries, but have expanded their site to also cover all restaurants, recipes, and they also support a forum to post questions and answers.
The Site’s Design
When you first enter their site, you think that you are at a Drive-In restaurant (thanks to their logo and colors used). So, from the very start you know what kind of site you are at and what is excepted of that site. The overall site design is very nice and well laid out. I believe they have done a great job with developing this site.
My Thoughts
RoadFood.com is one of those sites that I wish I had come up with the idea, because there have been many times where I was on vacation and felt like I needed a nice home cooked meal. However you usually can’t find these places as they are usually not on a main streets you would normally be traveling. And second, I have noticed that locals will help you out if you ask them but they won’t give you all the secrets to their great little town. So this is a great site to check and see where you can find some great meals on the road for cheap!
