A Top Grocery Site
FreshDirect.com
Site In Review:
http://www.freshdirect.com
Brief Description:
FreshDirect.com is a first of its kind and that alone makes it the Top Site Of The Day. The site demonstrates all that we can do with the click of the mouse these days. You can order all your groceries from home for just a $3.95 delivery charge. Well probably not everyone can take advantage of this site just yet, as their delivery area only includes their test area in Manhattan. They look to expand if everything works out, and as of right now its working out big time with more than 4,500 different orders a day.
About The Site
This is what the site is in a nutshell from the owner himself, “We’ve hired New York’s food experts, built the perfect environment for food and found the shortest distance from farms, dairies and fisheries to your table.
We have all the irresistibly fresh food you could want, plus popular grocery brands for up to 25% less than supermarket prices and we bring it right to your door.”
This site doesn’t stop at the fact that its a grocery store online, but they go the extra mile by not preparing your food until you order it. So your steak’s have not been cut for display 8 hours earlier, they are prepared as your order them by a professional chef. As goes for all items that you buy.
The Site’s Design
The site has a great layout which is easily navigatable. Obviously there are no ads on this site as they want to keep you there and aren’t interested in the mesely payouts of tacky ads on their site. Once you create an account with them its smooth sailing from there.
My Thoughts
As you can probably tell by now, I love this site and can’t wait until this comes to my town and I can avoid those crazy superstores and supermarkets. This is a great idea, not only because of the convenience factor but how it reduces the amount of people your food touches before its on your table. I am not sure about you but $3.95 is way worth it to avoid going to wallyworld, plus the food is usually cheaper so you’ll probably save that money anyways.
