Have you ever been looking for something on the internet and can’t seem to find it all on one site? Well IGN decided to create a network of sites that cover many different areas to keep their readers interested and coming back. While IGN does focus more on games then anything else, they have started to branch out and offer some great and interesting sites.

About The Site

IGN’s properties collectively attract more than 31 million unique monthly users worldwide. Their network of videogame-related properties (IGN.com, GameSpy, FilePlanet, TeamXbox, 3D Gamers, Direct2Drive and others) is the web’s number one videogame information destination and attracts one of the largest concentrated audiences of young males on the Internet. They also own and operate the popular movie-related website, Rotten Tomatoes, and one of the leading male lifestyle websites, AskMen.com. In addition, they provide technology for online game play in videogames.

The Site’s Design

Corp.ign.com is the main center for their media network which has a nice layout and allows for easy navigation to their several sites. As for each of their sites thats a different question, as the themes and layout change dramatically from one to another.

My Thoughts

I have used Teamxbox.com for a while now to retrieve information about the latest and greatest the xbox has to offer. However I have recently found that it was attached to the corp.ign.com which has a lot of cool sites itself. However a great idea, their media network seems to be a little narrow minded and could branch out and cover other areas of the web, besides what it already does.
